When he went to Mumbai to stay with his brother, he got a chance to show his tabla performance in the presence of 65000 peoples. Then he got chance to work with Anu Kapoor’s show “Antakshri” and “Meri Awaz Suno”, but, he was noticed from Movers and Shakers, a popular talk show hosted by Shekhar Suman.` He shared the stage with many artists of the film industry .He has worked in Great Indian Laughter Challenge, Non Sense Unlimited and Comedy Circus etc. He has received many awards and honours for his Tabla skills. After receiving a South Honour, Surinder was awarded Hira Manek Award, in Mumbai – a cultural body engaged in the promotion of the young talents in different fields. He is a good role model not merely because of his tabla playing skills, but also because of his human nature and smiling personality. He is very humble, always cool and highly helping and accommodating. Some people have criticized him that he does not react against jokes made upon him. However, he is not provoked and understands that in a comedy show such jokes are normal and can be made upon anyone. The same are not against the Sikh community (as we generally missunderstand) but, a part of light houmor shared by the participants in the show. That is why he smiles and adds to the beauty of the show. This kind of reaction shows the peace of mind, the sense of sharing and the spirit of corporation on his part, which qualities only a role model sikh can project. He is living in Mumbai with his wife and chidren.
