Uttrang Kaur Khalsa

Alexandra Aitken, popularly known as Ally Aitken, a British citizen, an environmental campaigner, actress, artist and socialite, was born on 14th June 1980. She is the daughter of a former British government Cabinet minister Jonathan Aitken and the great granddaughter of John Maffey,1st Baron Rugby. She became famous modelling for GQ magazine. As a model she subsequently appeared in Vogue, Tatler, Vanity Fair and many other publications. As an actress she had lead roles in well reviewed west end plays and off west end plays. In films she worked alongside award winning directors such as Mike Figgis and Roger Michell. She became a Sikh role model when in 2010, she married Inderjot Singh, a Sikh man, and realized that Sikhism is a faith which includes all. She met Inderjot, a Nihang at Sri Harmandir sahib Amritsar, when she visited the holly shrine after being trained in Kundalini yoga, meditation and Sikh teachings. She got converted to Sikhism and changed her name to Uttrang Kaur Khalsa. She also became a teetotaler and a vegan. In January 2013, her marriage broke due to personal reasons, but she did not give up Sikhism. In 2015, her father confirmed that the marriage was over, but she remains to be a Sikh because of her firm faith in Sikh teachings. She is living in a house in Anandpur Sahib, Punjab. She is definitely a role model as she has become a Sikh preacher after leaving her glamorous career and living.
